I will be visiting with the leaders in many different countries to strengthen our old friendships, build new partnerships, and unite the civilized world in a fight against terrorism. In that spirit of unity, I will travel to lands associated with three of the worlds great religions. My first stop will be Saudi Arabia – the heart of the Muslim World. There, I will address a historic gathering of the leaders of more than 50 Muslim nations. I will represent the views of the American people frankly and clearly. Many of these leaders have expressed growing concern about terrorism, the sp of radicalization, and Irans role in funding both. Now, it appears Muslim leaders are y to take more responsibility and a much bigger role in fighting terrorism in their region. Its about time we do it, well do it together, but it has to be done. America cannot solve all of the worlds problems, but we can – and we must – help any nation willing to join in the common cause of eradicating terrorism from the face of the earth. Next, Ill travel to the ancient city of Jerusalem to talk with my good friend, Prime Minister Netanyahu, about bringing peace and prosperity to both our nations. Israel is an important American ally, but in recent years we havent always treated them that way. Its time to renew our friendship. While Im there, Ill also meet with President Abbas of the Palestinian Authority in Bethlehem to discuss ways to advance peace between Israel and the Palestinians. From there, Ill head to the Vatican, where I will have the great honor of an audience with Pope Francis. I look forward to speaking with the Pope about how Christian teachings can help put the world on a path to justice, freedom, and peace. I will also meet with friends and allies in Europe at a gathering of NATO in Brussels and at the G-7 Summit in Italy. Finally, I will close my trip by saying thank you to some of the courageous men and women of the ed State Military serving their nation overseas. In my Inaugural Address, I pledged to strengthen Americas oldest friendships, to seek new partners in pursuit of peace, and above all – to always put American people first. I also pledged that our partners must show that theyre partners, they must show that theyre friends, and they must contribute financially to the tremendous cost – the money that were spending – is so big; its so much; and its not fair for our nation. They have to help and Im sure they will. The fact is that Im very excited about new possibilities for peace and prosperity – and I hope you are, too. Thank you, God bless you, and God bless America.201705/511867【学习提示】第一步:先听,理解句子;第二步:看原文模仿!【原声模仿】1. Come on. Dad! We’ve gotta go. Wake up!2. You promised!3. I can’t marry her. 福清龙田镇男科医院哪里效果好三山镇人民医院好不好美国习惯用语-第63讲:to keep one's eyes peeledto have the wool over one's eyes美国人似乎有不少用眼睛这个字,也就是英文里的eyes这个字组成的成语和俗语。 住在华盛顿的人经常会说:例句-1: "The beltway is very dangerous to drive on, especially during the rush hour. So be sure to keep your eyes peeled when you change lanes to pass one of those big trucks they call eighteen wheelers." 下面就是一个例子:例句-2: "Joe, I'm going to have to drill this lock out of the door for us to get in. The drill will make some noise, so keep your eyes peeled for the cops." 美国人经常说: to have the wool pulled over one's eyes。To have the wool pulled over one's eyes,这个习惯用语的意思就是:蒙蔽某人。 下面有关一位黄先生的例子就能说明问题:例句-3: "Poor Mr. Brown--his partner certainly pulled the wool over his eyes. He had no idea the partner was stealing all the profits until the man suddenly left town." To pull the wool over one's eyes这个俗语也可以用在其他方面,下面就是一个例子:例句-4: "I won't vote for that politician again. I've seen him pull the wool over the eyes of the voters with lots of promises, but he never carries them out once he gets into office." 我们今天讲的第二个俗语是to pull the wool over one's eyes,这是欺骗别人的意思。 1, Today, we're having curry.2, How soon can you get it y?3, Let's eat.4, Please go ahead.。5, This knife cuts well, doesn't it?6, The water is boiling!7, Come and get it! 8, It's time to eat.9, I'm coming.10, Did you wash your hands well?
